How to keep track of domain names while you search.
Checking a hundred names produces a wall of results you will not remember tomorrow. The shortlist is the one screen between that wall and a decision: star anything worth a second look and deal with the rest later.

What is a domain shortlist for?
Holding the few names worth a second look while you keep searching. It is deliberately small, because a shortlist of eighty names is just another wall of results.
Where is my shortlist saved?
In this browser without an account, up to 10 names. With a free account it is saved to your account and synced across devices, up to 25, and up to 50 on Pro.
No account
This browser
Fast and private, but tied to one browser on one device.
Free account
Your account
Synced, so the same list is on your laptop, your phone and after a reinstall.
Pro
Your account
The same sync, with room for larger research sets.
Is a saved domain still available?
The shortlist tells you. Every saved name is checked again each time you open the page, with today’s status and price: available, premium, for sale or registered.
When you saved it, Sep 2
The name was free, so the entry was saved as Available.
When you open the shortlist today
Someone else registered it in between. The shortlist checks again and shows it.
The shortlist only checks while you look at it. To hear about a change while you are away, add the name to Domain Hub, which checks it every day and emails you when it matters. For hundreds of names at once, use the bulk checker.
What do you do with a shortlist?
Move the names that survive into a project, watch the ones you cannot have yet, and take the rest to a registrar.
- Keep them in a project.
- Projects hold names with notes and a share link, with no cap on how long you sit on them.
- Watch the taken ones.
- Domain Hub follows a registered name until it changes hands or drops.
- Get the list out.
- With a free account, Copy all puts every name on your clipboard, and CSV export keeps the status and date next to each one.
Shortlist questions
Short answers about saving domain names.
Do I need an account to save domains?
No. Without an account up to 10 domains are saved in this browser. A free account saves 25 and syncs them across devices, and Pro saves 50.
Is a domain on my shortlist reserved for me?
No. Saving a name does not hold it. Anyone can register it until you do. The shortlist checks every name again each time you open it, so what you see there is today’s status.
Can I export my shortlist?
Yes, with a free account. Copy all puts every saved domain on your clipboard, and CSV export keeps the status and the date saved next to each name.
What is the difference between the shortlist and a project?
The shortlist is a small, quick list for the names worth a second look during a search. A project keeps the ones that survive, with notes and a share link, for as long as you need.
