What is Azure DNS?

Azure DNS is Microsoft’s DNS hosting service in its Azure cloud. It answers queries for hosted domains from Azure’s global network of nameservers and is managed through the Azure portal, command line or API. It does not sell domain names; those are bought from a registrar and pointed to Azure.

Why do domains use Azure DNS?

Mostly because their applications run on Microsoft Azure; hosting the DNS there keeps records and resources in one place.
